Morning exercises

I’ve been using off cuts from my painted papers and reject prints to make small collages each day, to get my creativity warmed up. Here’s a small selection.

Lucca and Pistoia

Boats and Boxes

My paintings are often made en plein air, especially the oil paintings. They often relate to the sea. Sometimes I include found objects in the images or paint on found boards. These first two were painted during a stay on the south Kent coast.

Beachcombing finds are sometimes incorporated into work. Here the piece of timber resembled a boat. A found text and collaged screenprints were used to complete the assemblage.

Night Shingle

Dungeness in Kent makes a frequent appearance in Lynda’s work. Here a book of collage and monotypes evokes the scattered nature of the houses and the way they are lit up at night by the sweep of the lighthouse beam and by the glow from the nuclear power station.
