A new set of prints

I’ve been making some drypoint test prints in various colour ways of the Duomo in Massa Marittima in southern Tuscany. I visited it in 2018 on one of my regular trips to Italy. This is a one off monochrome version. A4 size.

Nature Works

I have four artists books in this exhibition at Upright Gallery in Edinburgh.

Against the background of climate change and COP26 in Glasgow over 32 artist book makers have submitted works reflecting their own concerns for the environment. uprightgallery.com for more information and opening times.

St Ives and the Sea

Here’s one of the finished paintings.

I’ve been making preparatory paintings with collage in a five week course at Paintbox School of Art in Cockenzie, East Lothian, called St Ives and the Sea. A process-led first 3 weeks and now I’ll be moving on to make three final paintings. I’ll post them on the website when they’re finished.

An artists market

I’ll be at my stall in Venue 30 The Hive selling my prints, cards and artist books. It’s a great event with live music and food. Abbeyhill Colonies, Edinburgh.

Black and Yellow Challenge

I’ve joined the Black and Yellow print challenge set by the excellent printmaking journal Pressing Matters. Fingers crossed it gets featured in the next edition! This is a monoprint made by painting and rolling relief ink onto a Perspex sheet and running it through my press.

At the Beach

My exhibition at Dungeness in Kent was a great success. Lots of visitors (and sales!). Plus I met some of my Instagram followers for the first time. Here’s a view through the window with two of my paintings on found wood. Top one sold.

My exhibition with husband Ron has now opened for three days at Dungeness Open Studios in Kent. Here’s a photo of the beach hut we’re using to show our work which is inspired by our visits to Dungeness for the past 8 years.

Exciting news!

I’ll be exhibiting work inspired by Dungeness and will be there in person, in a hut on the beach! A chance to meet me and my art.

Screenprinting using screen block

Lighthouse screenprint

My first screenprint using screen block. A two layer print based on Tarbat Ness lighthouse in Easter Ross, North East Scotland. It’s actually red and white but I only had time for two layers in the class where I made the print.
