I’m thrilled to be a part of this exhibition 6-27 September 2025.
On the same page celebrates the page, the book and the artists who make them. After working together for almost 15 years, the members of bound : unbound are certainly on the same page. They all make artist books. But they also make complementary work: Christine Sloman and Susie Wilson are printmakers, Lynda Wilson is a printmaker and painter, Liza Green is a textile artist, and Susie Leiper is a calligrapher and painter. The exhibition demonstrates how their various practices work together and are reflected in their artist books.

Cockenzie Beach and Port Seton Harbour

I spent four days at Paintbox School of Art in a collage workshop tutored by Kitty Jones. This concertina mixed media drawing with collage was one of my final pieces. We managed to work outside every day despite the vagaries of the Scottish weather!

The following week, I spent three days oil painting en plein air with Damian Callan’s group. The sun shone every day! I made three paintings, two still to finish, but this is finished and definitely the best one.
Preparations for a busy summer

I’m very busy preparing work for Printmakers of Scotland annual Festival of Printmaking at University of Stirling from 15 to 17 August and bound : unbound’s exhibition ‘On the Same Page’ at Upright Gallery Edinburgh 6-26 September.
I’ve also signed up to two workshops, one at Paintbox Art School and the other with Damian Callan. Both of these centred round the harbours at Cockenzie and Port Seton in East Lothian.
This week I’m drawing for a few hours at Redhall Walled Garden in Edinburgh.
So all go!
